FOVE recommends against using adapters if possible. However, we understand there are cases where it cannot be avoided, so we have compiled a list of known working adapters.

USB Extenders

FOVE 0 has one USB 2.0 (thin) and one USB 3.0 (thick) cable.

• The USB 3.0 cable is for power and data. We do not max out the USB 3.0 bandwidth, so it’s expected that any extender of a reasonable length will work.
• The USB 2.0 cable is for power only, and can be extended as much as needed—or even plugged into a wall charger or different PC entirely. This cable is only used for position tracking, so you can unplug it if you only use 3DoF tracking.

HDMI Extenders

We max out the HDMI 1.4 bandwidth, so it should be expected that extenders will cause problems. That being said, the following HDMI extenders have been used successfully:

These can be very hit or miss. For starters, you need to use an active-type converter. But even when using active-type adapters, we have found that many still do not work.
