The FOVE Tray Application is the primary graphical user interface of the FOVE VR Platform on Windows. It shows up as “FOVE VR” in the Windows Start menu.

The Windows search feature pictured above is the easiest place to find it. You’re also welcome to make shortcuts, pin it to the taskbar, or open it directly. (It is installed to C:\Program Files\FOVE\FoveTray.exe by default).

While running, the FOVE Tray application keeps an icon in the Windows system tray in the bottom-right corner of the screen. In some cases, Windows may group multiple icons into a submenu, so please check closely if you can’t find it.

Double-clicking on the icon will toggle the display of the main GUI window. You can also right-click it to directly access the right-click menu.

The UI is a small pop-up overlay window. It allows you to always see the state of the system, even when you tab over to other windows, like your VR application.

Right-click on any part of this window to get to the right-click menu.

  1. The FOVE Runtime Switch

This switch turns on or off the FOVE runtime. This is an application that runs in the background and drives the headset. Even if the tray application is not open, any connected FOVE 0 headset will function and VR applications can be run if the FOVE runtime is running.
